Mayor Alan Arakawa will speak on public access issues Tuesday afternoon during the launch of a speakers program by Public Access Trails Hawaii, a hikers’ group that has filed a lawsuit to reopen a horse trail formerly used to reach Haleakala Crater.
The event will start at 4:30 p.m. at the Kaunoa Senior Center.
The group builds community ties by connecting people and places through trails, urban paths and bikeways, according to an event announcement.
