The Kula and Makawao community associations will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, to discuss the future of Upcountry.
The meeting in the King Kekaulike High School cafeteria will focus on the proposals for the next 20 years that are included in the Maui Island Plan currently before the Maui County Council. The discussion will include maps of the urban- and rural-growth boundaries proposed in the Makawao-Pukalani-Kula Community Plan district.
County officials will be on hand to discuss the plans and answer questions.
The meeting also will include the introduction of the proposed “Upcountry Greenways Master Plan,” which creates a network of hiking, biking and equestrian trails extending throughout the area.
Refreshments will be served.
