San Diego-based Sempra Generation, developers of solar, wind and natural gas energy projects, recently formed Sempra Renewables, a subsidiary to oversee its planned 21-megawatt Auahi Wind project in southeastern Maui, according to spokesman Scott Kreider.
The project is currently under review by federal agencies, Maui County and the state. Pending approval, construction is slated to start early next year and take about one year to complete.
